This year the eStar and Viare team attended Online Retailer at ICC Sydney. As Australia's largest and original conference event for the eCommerce industry, it offered a wealth of insights from the track talks and panel discussions. Eric Morris, Founder and ex-CEO of PAS Group and Brand Collective, joined Matt Brovelli on the track 6 talk on Bricks & Clicks. They discussed the importance of understanding and prioritising customers to excel in omni-channel retail, blending online and in-store shopping seamlessly. Eric shared how the key to success lies in truly understanding your customers and creating a seamless experience that integrates both online and in-store shopping. He emphasised the importance of using appropriate systems for real-time stock updates, offering click-and-collect services, and personalising the shopping journey with customer data. By avoiding organizational silos, investing in the right technology, and focusing on metrics like Customer Lifetime Value, retailers can enhance customer retention and ensure a consistent brand presence across all channels. Ultimately, putting the customer first and listening to their needs is crucial for thriving in today's competitive retail market.
