Harrolds launches with eStar

Press Release

Harrolds, Australia’s family owned luxury department store with shops throughout Australia has upgraded its customer experience by launching its first eCommerce platform to enable customers to continue shopping, while keeping safe at home.

“From the onset, the challenge we set for eStar was to convey the in-shop experience as closely as possible online,” says Ross Poulakis, Managing Director of Harrolds. “Digital is now a critical part of the customer journey for luxury goods and without a premium online offering, we couldn’t serve our customers as effectively as we wanted to.  eStar delivered what we had envisioned for our customers and the response to our eCommerce service, especially during this unprecedented time, has been very positive."

Launched in one of the most challenging times the retail industry has ever seen, the eCommerce solution developed by eStar has provided Harrolds with an opportunity to rapidly scale its operations.  The solution has been well received and it will continue to help drive additional foot traffic in-store while enhancing the overall experience for customers through options such as virtual styling consultation and click and collect at its stores.

Founded in 1985 on Melbourne’s Collins Street, Harrolds is now home to over 70 local and international designers. Harrolds remains a family-run, privately owned business that focuses on providing clients with an exceptional service. Harrolds differentiates themselves through their personalised offerings, including bespoke tailoring and concierges services. Luxury brands such as Balmain, Burberry, Dior, Lardini, Stella McCartney, Tom Ford, and many more will be showcased digitally and available to purchase online.

"At Harrolds, we’re grateful that even during this downtime, our customers are still supporting us. In turn, via our eCommerce platform, we are continuing to serve, delight, and give options to our customers as we safely ease out of social distancing." Mr. Poulakis ended.

“We are delighted to partner and guide Harrolds as they embark on an eCommerce strategy and bring to life their vision to enhance the premium retail experience for customers in-store and online,” says Alison Crosbie, Chief Growth Officer of eStar. “Our objectives are to maximise both digital and in-store sales while increasing in-store traffic among consumers aligned with Harrold’s products and brand.”
