The Retail Fulfilment Summit was held in Sydney a week ago and the eStar team was fortunate to be on the ground. Like most attendees we were excited to have an in-person event on this subject. Especially after such a tumultuous 2-year hiatus. Despite the current economic gloom, there seemed to be general excitement and enthusiasm from attendees to grapple with the challenges that the last two years have thrown at them in the world of fulfilment. The biggest theme was “customer expectation”. More specifically people were talking about dealing with scale, embracing new technology and striving to meet customer expectations for faster delivery.
We had lots of interesting conversations with attendees about our solutions and how we are helping our clients meet these challenges. In return we heard about how some are succeeding, whilst others are still on a journey and still trying to catch up to what their customers expect of them.
eStar’s Patrick Gaskin spoke on the conference stage about the benefits of store-based fulfilment and what it takes to realise its potential. The session was well received, likely because the reason for embracing store-based fulfilment is obvious, but the execution difficult. To find out more about that session please click here.
